The Scoutmaster Encounter Guide
The Scoutmaster Encounter

In Peak, the climb itself may feel like the core challenge, but surviving the mountain's dark secrets is what truly tests your spirit. Among these secrets is the infamous Scoutmaster. A monstrous force of nature that exists solely to chase you down and hurl you into the void. Yes, the legends are true, he's real, he's massive, and he definitely wants to send you flying. Summoning him unlocks one of the wildest achievements in the game, but don't expect to trigger it by knocking politely. Here's how you awaken this towering terror.

Can The Scoutmaster Be Defeated?
There is currently no known way to defeat the Scoutmaster. He is not a boss to be fought, but a storm to be survived. Your only goal is to outlast him—run, climb, evade. In certain spots like hanging vines, players have found temporary shelter, but don't rely on them too long. If you manage to stay alive or escape his grasp long enough for him to despawn, you'll survive the encounter. If he defeats you, however, you'll be awarded the elusive Mentorship Badge which is a token of failure, but also a mark of bravery for daring to face him.
Method 1: How To Summon The Scoutmaster
Use The Scoutmaster Bugle

This rare item, known as the Scoutmaster Bugle, can be found inside the revive statues at the peak of each stage, or within suitcases.
Once in your possession, using the bugle immediately alerts the Scoutmaster, who will spawn in the distance and relentlessly pursue you. He fixates on the player who summoned him, though picking up fallen allies can also redirect his fury. Once he reaches you, expect to be grabbed and forcefully tossed again and again until you escape him or fall.
One of the few ways to escape him is to outrun him, or if he gets too close and you have a banana peel, or the blowgun, you can use those to temporarily stun him.
Method 2: Stray Too Far In Multiplayer
In co-op mode, being too independent comes with a price. If you move more than 200 meters ahead of your teammates, the game responds by summoning The Scoutmaster to punish your lack of teamwork. Just like the bugle method, he will chase the player who triggered the event. This method is useful for players who haven't yet found the bugle but still want to face the wrath.
