The Official PEAK Achievement Guide w/ Cosmetics

This Guide will be going over every achievement in the game, there will be spoilers btw so just keep that in mind if you wanna be blind for any of this.

The Base Of The Mountain

Hope this guide is helpful :) if it helped at all gimme a thumbs up >:)

Objective Achievements

Before starting, all achievements CAN be completed on tenderfoot difficulty or any other difficulty!

These are achievements you can get at any time, without requiring a special condition.

Beachcomber Badge

Climb past the SHORE.

Reach the campfire at the top of the first area of the game

Trailblazer Badge

Climb past the TROPICS.

Reach the campfire at the top of the second area of the game

Alpinist Badge

Climb past the ALPINE.

Reach the campfire at the top of the third area of the game

Volcanology Badge

Climb past the CALDERA.

Reach the campfire at the end of the fourth area of the game

Peak Badge

Reach the PEAK.

Reach the area at the top of the Kiln (Which is the section after Caldera)

Participation Badge

Have a friend escape the island without you.

Be a ghost/skeleton when the helicopter leaves with an alive player at the Peak. If you're unconscious (Not turned into a skeleton and have a death timer) when the helicopter leaves, you will not get this achievement. Additionally even if you're not at the peak (For example, at the bottom of the Kiln) but you're alive when the helicopter leaves, you will not get this achievement.

Participation Badge

Esoterica Badge

Obtain a mystical item.

Mystical items can be obtained from the scout statues near each campfire on the island, which will spawn a mystical item ONLY if no players need to be revived. Alternatively, they can be found in Ancient Luggage, which spawn randomly on the island. They have a red heart implanted in the top of the case and gives one mystical item at the cost of HP when opened.

Emergency Preparedness Badge

Heal an unconscious friend with an item to save them from death.

A player is unconscious when their eyes are replaced by swirls and they can no longer move or speak and you have the option to carry them. To get this achievement you need to remove enough of a negative affliction with an item until their negative afflictions no longer exceed their stamina bar. So for poison you can use an antidote until they wake up, for hunger a food item, for injury a medical item and so on. You can have a player purposefully take fall damage until they pass out and then use a medkit or bandage to easily obtain this.

Arborist Badge

Reach the top of a really big tree.

Several MASSIVE trees will be spawned in the Tropics region. You should know it when you see one, typically noticeable with their large umbrella shaped groups of leaves. you just need to reach the highest group of leaves to obtain this. Climbing can typically be done easily on tenderfoot just by moving from branch to branch, using an energy drink or lollipop can also help with this.

Endurance Badge

Climb 50m upwards without touching the ground.

Recommended to attempt this on tenderfoot for reduced stamina drain. An easy method is shooting a chain launcher as far as you can directly upwards and climbing it. Alternative method is by using a lollipop and then right after an energy drink and spamming shift on a big wall. Last method is by making a chain of ropes/pitons.

Mentorship Badge

Have a 1-on-1 with the Scoutmaster.

The scoutmaster spawns when a player's height is too far above the second highest player. It's recommended to be the lobby host for this since otherwise it might bug out. Make the other people in your lobby wait at the base of a section and climb up alone, eventually he will spawn and your screen will get covered in static. Alternatively the scoutmaster can be spawned in solo using the Scoutmaster Bugle mystical item that spawns in Ancient Luggage/Statues. If the achievement doesn't work when he spawns, try playing the bugle from spawn at the scoutmaster (Unconfirmed if this is needed but it's what I did when I got it - Cewl_Cat)

Mentorship Badge

Animal Serenading Badge

Play the bugle for a capybara.

Capybara's are a guaranteed spawn in the Alpine region. They spawn inside a hot spring, and can be anywhere on the Alpine mountain, and only change location when a daily island reset occurs. Look for a steam effect moving upwards when approaching to mountain to try and locate them. Bring the bugle that spawns inside the crashed plane at the start, and once you reach the capybaras, use the bugle and you will get the badge.(Any bugle works, but regular one is the easiest)

Animal Serenading Badge

Progression Achievements

These are achievements that tally up over time as you do the requirements, which lets you complete them over multiple different runs.

High Altitude Badge

Climb 5000m total.

You'll get this over time just by playing the game, for perspective the distance to the peak is about 1920 meters. So this should take about 3 successful runs or several failed ones.

Happy Camper Badge

Receive 5 Morale Boosts from campfires.

If you're near a campfire with 2 or more people, (which spawn at the top of each section) when it activates, you receive a "Morale Boost" indicated in the bottom left, this gives you some extra yellow stamina.

Bouldering Badge

Place 10 pitons.

Pitons can be randomly found in luggages. Since this is total, you don't need to do it in one run, so place every piton you find until you get this badge. Pitons can be placed by climbing a wall and holding right click with one in your hotbar.

Toxicology Badge

Restore 200 total poison by using items.

You can get poison from burnt food, poison gas bombs, spiked vines, poisonous food items, purple leaves, and ticks. Majority of these can be found in the Tropics. An easy method for this is to find an antidote consumable (Has a higher chance to spawn in the Tropics) and purposefully run into a spiked vine or purple leaves and then drink the antidote. This does not need to be done in one run, so don't worry if you don't find enough antidote. Medicinal roots, cure-all and I believe medkits, can also be used for this.

Cooking Badge

Cook 20 meals at campfires.

Holding interact with an item in your hand while looking at the campfire will cook it. Only the initial first cooking of an item increases the achievement progress. Cooked inedible items also count for this achievement. To make things easier, you can actually cook things using the fire that's on the plane wing at spawn.

Single Expedition Achievements

These are achievements that require you to complete certain conditions during a single escape attempt (basically just without failing and returning to the airport) they do not require that you escape the island, and will complete when the conditions are met.

Clutch Badge

Resurrect 3 scouts in a single expedition

Interact with the scout statue near any of the campfires on the island when 3 other players are dead (Ghosts). Which will revive all 3 players. This can be done easily just by reaching the top of a section and having 3 players jump off and die and then using the statue. (scout effigy does not count towards the 3 revives)

First Aid Badge

Heal your friends for 100 points of injury in a single expedition.

"Injury" is indicated on the stamina bar as a red broken heart. You can heal other players by holding right click on them with a held healing item. Bandages, Medkits, Cure-all, Medicinal Roots, and Yellow Winterberries can all be used to achieve this. A simple way is by having a player purposefully take fall damage and then using a medkit to heal it, since medkits heal ALL injury damage a player might have.

Plunderer Badge

Open 15 luggages in a single expedition.

Luggages spawn randomly across the island, and their spawn locations don't change per run, only per daily island generation. So you can memorize all the spawns and go for each one. This is much easier in solo, and you can play on Tenderfoot to avoid to time limit so you can search for as long as you want.

Knot Tying Badge

Place 100m of rope in a single expedition.

Loot every luggage you find and fully place every rope item, should take about 8 rope spools to complete this. Anti rope and rope launchers (Launchers are only 5m towards the 100m) also count, so use them when you find them.

Foraging Badge

Eat 5 different berries in a single expedition.

Different colors of berry do not count for this badge, only different types. The different types of berries that can be eaten for this badge are listed below. Only 5 must be eaten during a single run to get the badge.

  • Crispberry (Spawns on small bushes in Shore/Tropics)
  • Berrynana (Spawns on climbable vines in the Tropics)
  • Kingberry (Spawns on thin trees in the Tropics)
  • Scorchberry (Spawns on small bushes in the Tropics)
  • Clusterberry (Spawns on thick vines and spiked poison vines in the Tropics)
  • Winterberry (Spawns on trees with visible branches in the Alpine)
  • Napberry (Rarely spawns on a sapling in the Alpine)
  • Tick (Apparently this counts as a berry, a bug that spawns in the Tropics, latches onto your leg and deals poison, can be removed by interacting with it and can be eaten safely)

Mycology Badge

Eat four different non-toxic mushrooms in a single expedition.

Mushroom spawns are random each run, and can only spawn in the Shore or Tropics. Mushrooms can spawn in groups, and only have the same variant in each group. Each mushroom type, besides Chubby, have a poisonous and non poisonous variant. 4 of the non poisonous variants must be eaten during a run for this badge. The mushroom variants are listed below.

  • Button Non-Toxic (Has an X shape on the top of the cap)
  • Button Toxic: (The X shape is replaced by circular spots)
  • Bugle Non-Toxic (The underside of the cap is smooth)
  • Bugle Toxic: (The underside of the cap has frills/lines)
  • Cluster Non-Toxic (The stems are clean)
  • Cluster Toxic: (The middle of the stems have umbrella shaped caps)
  • Chubby (Always Non-Toxic)

Escape Achievements

These achievements require you to complete certain conditions and then successfully escape alive on the helicopter at the peak of the mountain in the same run that you did the badge requirements.

Survivalist Badge

Escape the island without ever losing consciousness.

As mentioned before, you begin to fall unconscious when your negative afflictions exceed your stamina bar. You then have about 5 seconds of blurry and slowed vision to react and try to prevent a full knock out by removing negative afflictions. Bring a lantern to help prevent the cold in Alpine from knocking you out as this is the most likely source.

Bing Bong Badge

Help Bing Bong escape the island.

Bing Bong spawns in the crashed plane at the start of the game, carry him in your inventory all the way to the peak, and escape on the helicopter with him in your inventory. (Other players should receive the badge as long as one person has bing bong in their inventory during the escape)

(Bring the glorious king BINGBONG to the helicopter and you shall receive your reward) (DO IT FOR HIM)

Bing Bong Badge

Lone Wolf Badge

Escape the island in a solo expedition.

Start an offline game, make it to the peak and escape on the helicopter. Learn a route on each attempt, if the island is too difficult for you alone, wait until it resets and then try again.

(be brave)

Speed Climber Badge

Escape the island in under an hour.

Play through an island multiple times until you find a good route, if the island seems to take too long, wait for it to reset and try again later. Use energy drinks to increase your speed, and lollipops to skip large sections with infinite stamina. Try to only pick up luggage close to your path and focus just on climbing. This is easier in a duo or solo since you won't have to wait for other people.

Balloon Badge

Escape the island without taking fall damage.

There are no items that directly prevent fall damage. Learn a route, take your time, always climb down slopes or walls if going down, even small ones. Grabbing onto a vine or chain while falling will prevent all fall damage (as long as the vine or chain is high enough off the ground).

(be safe)

Naturalist Badge

Escape the island without eating any packaged food.

Don't eat any consumables that come from luggage. Also you can't be fed these items from other players. Marshmallows at campfires are safe to eat for this badge, Pandora's Lunchbox and Cure-all are also able to be consumed and still get this achievement.

The items that count as packaged food are:

  • Granola Bar
  • Trail Mix
  • Scout Cookies
  • Lollipop
  • Energy Drink
  • Sports Drink
  • Airline Food

Leave No Trace Badge

Escape the island without placing anything on the mountain.

No players can use rope spools, rope launchers, pitons, chain launchers, portable stoves, during the run. If anyone uses one of these items the badge cannot be obtained for that run. You can use shelf shrooms and magic beans (according to @Akadsura and @JIMMY)

Gourmand Badge

Escape the island after cooking and eating a coconut half, a honeycomb, a yellow winterberry, and an egg.

  • Coconut halves are obtained either at Shore or Tropics, they spawn in palm trees, once grabbed they can be thrown at more than half strength at anything to split them in two, giving you two halves. This can easily be done at the start by cooking a half using the fire on the crashed plane wing.
  • Honeycombs are obtained in the Tropics, beehives can spawn in thin trees, you need to grab the beehive and throw it at something to crack it open into up to 4 honeycombs. The bees will chase you and try to give you poison but if you run a decent distance away from them they will de-aggro
  • Yellow Winterberries spawn in Alpine, two are guaranteed to spawn at the capybara hot springs (more info in the Animal Serenading section) and sometimes very rarely can spawn on orange winterberry trees.
  • Eggs spawn in Caldera, they spawn in big bird nests that randomly spawn across the section, and need to be cracked open like a coconut to get the egg inside.

Once you have one of the required items, cook them at a campfire or portable cooker once, then eat them. They don't need to be eaten in order, just need to be cooked and eaten at some point. After eating all 4 items, escape using the helicopter at the peak and you will get the badge.

Bookworm Badge

@Cewl_Cat Helped me understand how to get this achievement So I added him as an author to the guide because they are my GOAT. They figured this out specifically, everyone else that got the achievement before us cheated it in with SAM or hacked in the page to get the achievement.

Finally, the Bookworm Achievement!

What are Scrolls?

Scrolls can spawn near any of the 4 campfires on the island. Spawns are dependent on the generation and don't reset per run. Each campfire can only spawn one scroll each. It is possible that no scrolls spawn, then you'd have to wait for a generation that has them. When scrolls are used they create a torn page based on the steam achievement progress of that player. For example someone with 3/8 pages will create page 4 when used. If you take an UNOPENED scroll to a new biome and then open it you get the next page that you need that can spawn in that biome.

Ascensions or difficulty do not affect page spawns, every page can spawn on tenderfoot or above.

If a player reads a page out of order, the page will still be marked as read, BUT the steam achievement progress will not update until all pages before that page have been read. For example if a player reads pages 1, 2, 3, and 5, their achievement progress will say 3/8 but when they read the 4th page, it will jump to 5/8

Region Spawns for the Pages

Page Shore/Tropics Alpine Caldera
Page 1 (Diary) Yes Yes No
Page 2 (Mushrooms) Yes Yes Yes
Page 3 (Campfire) Yes Yes Yes
Page 4 (Occult) Yes Yes Yes
Page 5 (Cold) No Yes Yes
Page 6 (Napberry) No Yes Yes
Page 7 (Left Behind) No Yes Yes
Page 8 (Rule 0) No No Yes

Currently people are getting repeats of the 7th page out of 8 instead of getting the final page at the Alpines, a fix is going to the caldera and open up the journal page there to get the 8th and final page.

How do I get the badge?

Obtain a scroll at any of the 4 campfires IF they spawn there for the day, once you get that scroll you open it in the biome of the page that you need next. Once you get your desired page and the steam achievement updates the actual # of pages out of 8 you can then die or leave the game and redo this process to get all 8 pages. You can also bring pages with out using them to get a different page (So say a page spawning at the Shore campfire you can bring that to the Alpines to get pages 5,6, and 7.) Also you DO NOT have to go all the way to a campfire for that areas Pages to spawn, i personally only went a lil bit in til snowstorms started spawning to get new pages in the alpines, so you don't have to go too far into a region for their pages to come from a scroll.
